Rose Stahl, Actress

Exceptional grouping of three cabinet cards of the actress Rose Stahl. What elevates this to the next level however is a copy of her contract on September 10, 1908 with Henry B. Harris of the City of New York is included. Her base salary was $350 per week and for the first two years, 33 1/3% of the net profits, then 40% for the next two years, and 50% for the remaining of the contract. Rose Stahl was born in Montreal but spent her formative years in Chicago. She made her acting debut in Philadelphia in 1887. It appears Rose was in a Chorus Girl in London in 1906 and reappeared in a four-part revision called the Chorus Lady in NY. She played that part until 1911, then played Maggie Peeper and finally in 1916 Moonlight Mary. The cabinet cards show Rose in a formal pose with a gorgeous and fashion forward outfit. She is quite stunning and we also notice the hint of sex appeal as she plays with a tassel on her outfit just below her bust line. The other two outfits have a Cleopatra feel to them and once again her beauty is apparent. All three silver prints are in excellent minus condition with a hint of wear.
